SYLVIA HAZEL BAILEY (Jan
21 1900 - Oct 15 1912) |
|
Sylvia Hazel Bailey was the youngest of the nine
children of Rufus and Elizabeth Bailey. She was a happy child and was adored by every
member of the family. Sylvia was attending Scott School in Oklahoma County when she was
stricken. Her passing brought great sorrow, to family, friends, and neighbors. It was the
custom of the time (or the family) not to mention those that had passed on. But brother
Ralph broke with tradition when he said in a letter to his brother Bill "Oh, Bill
it's so lonely here without Sylvie". |

BRITTON WEEKLY SENTINEL - 17 Oct 1912: |
Miss Sylvia Baily died at her home in the western part of Spring Creek Township Tuesday and was buried at the Carson cemetery Wednesday. She suffered a long time with Typhoid
when other complications set in which caused her death. Her aged parents, brothers and sisters have the
heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. |
