- The uncontroverted evidence is that the Nickels "homesteaded" this
land and lived on it until 1909, when Francis M. Nickel and Mary J. Nickel
separated and all the live stock, farming implements and other property were sold at
public sale, and Francis M. Nickel took up his residence in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
county, Okla., and Mary J. Nickel went to New Mexico.
