This grave has only a brass marker placed by the Association in the 1930s.  The name on the marker is PHILLIPS.

WYATT MOSBEY PHILLIPS (28 Mar 1846 - 15 Sep 1919)

Originally little was known about the person in this unmarked grave except that the name was Wyatt Phillips and he was the great-uncle of a man named John Boyd.  The death certificate was provided to OHCA in 2007 which provided the full name, dates and the names of his parents. 

John Boyd was married to Wanda Rosecrans.  Wyatt is living with John Boyd's father in 1910 (John C. Boyd - husband of Anna J. Phillips - Anna's father was William Phillips brother of Wyatt)  The Boyds were neighbors to the Crookhams and Meekers.  

Most of the unmarked graves (marked with brass plates by  the Cemetery Association in 1934) were graves established before 1920.

  • According to the Association archives Wyatt Phillips was a great-uncle to John Boyd.   John Boyd was married to Wanda Rosecrans who was the daughter of William C. Rosecrans whose parents Lewis and Lucy are buried at Olive Hill.
    • Laura ROSECRANS, sister of William C. Rosecrans and daughter of Lewis and Lucy Rosecrans, married  George, one of the sons of James Nicholson who is buried at Olive Hill. 
      • The Nicholson family is related by marriage to the Bailey family
        • The Bailey family is related by marriage to the Carson, Stickler, Sitlington, Meeker, Butler, Lay and Young families.
  • Leonard ROSECRANS, brother of Wanda Rosecrans , married Mary Benne , the aunt of Delbert and Lula Helen Benne who are buried at Olive Hill.
    • Lula Helen Benne married Oliver Bradshaw who is also buried at Olive Hill.
  • The grandmother of Wanda Rosecrans was Lucy Smith Rosecrans, the daughter of Almina Smith who is buried at Olive Hill.
