Obituary
OLIVE HAND BAILEY (30 May 1814 - 18 Oct 1891)

Olive Hand was born May 30 1814 at Peacham, Vermont the second of six children of Charles Hand and Clara Hurd.

She married James Miner Bailey at Troy Vermont on June 18, 1833.  The family emigrated to the territory of Ohio, Hardin county in the late 1840's.  After the Civil War they moved to the new territory of Kansas where they lived until the death of James in 1888.  They had eight children but only four lived to maturity.  Olive moved to Miller, Oklahoma with her daughter and son-in-law Helen and Joseph Pine Carson in 1890.  Her will established Olive Hill Cemetery.

The original stone for Olive Hand Bailey was destroyed by vandals in the 1960s.   The stone pictured is it's replacement.
