Oliver and Helen were born in Oklahoma, They were married October 30, 1930 in Britton, Oklahoma. Oliver P. Bradshaw, was the son of Richard Martel Bradshaw and Effie May (Brown) Bradshaw. Helen was the first child (of twelve) of William Henry Benne and Katie May (Bowers) Benne. Helen's brother Delbert Ray Benne is buried here, also. Oliver and Helen had five children and spent their lives in the Oklahoma City area. They were blessed with 18 grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives. Oliver Bradshaw was one of the first members of the Olive Hill Cemetery Association, Inc 2003 the OHCA raised funds to mark these graves.

Oliver Bradshaw Dies at Age of 59

Oliver P. Bradshaw, 59 of 7003 NW 50, died Sunday in Deaconess Hospital following an extended illness. Services are pending with Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Bradshaw was born in McGregor, Texas, and moved to Oklahoma City in 1925. He was an employee of Santa Fe Railway and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son ; three daughters, four brothers, R. M. Jr., 2836 SW 33; Hugh, 6607 NW 30; Bob, 4418 NW 20, and James, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Francis Bilbrey, San Antonio, and Mrs. Frankie Gales, 4803 N. Donald.

Preceded in death by two husbands; Oliver Perry Bradshaw and Dale Moore and 1 son, Oliver Perry Bradshaw Jr. She is survived by one son, three daughters, 2 brothers, 6 sisters, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives. She was a member of Western Oaks Mennonite Brethren Church of Bethany.

    Ruth Z. Paine, 87, of Guthrie, died July 21, 2007 in Guthrie, OK. She was born on March 5, 1920 to William Henry Benne, Sr. and Katie May (Bowers) Benne in Oklahoma City where she was raised. Ruth spent many times sharing with family and friends about her fond memories of the family getting together in the home to enjoy the country and western music being played by her father, William, and other members of her family. On July 3, 1947, she married Robert Paine in Oklahoma City, and they resided on their acreage in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Together, they had no children. By two previous marriages, Ruth had 3 sons. Ruth was a homemaker and a very talented seamstress. For many years, she sewed for her family, also her extended family, and interior decorators in the Oklahoma City area. She made many garments, bedspreads, draperies, quilts and other items. Ruth also enjoyed cooking, and getting together with family for holidays and special occasions. Down through the years, she also enjoyed helping others when she could. After the death of her husband, Robert, she was employed at Tinker Airforce Base for 14 years, retiring in July 1982. Although she is no longer with us, her memory will be kept alive through the family she leaves behind. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1967; three brothers and one sister; and a very dear friend, Kay Marsh. Survivors include three sons; 6 grandchildren, and 12 great- grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family expresses our deep appreciation and gratitude to Companion Hospice Chaplain, Gene Owen, the nurses, and staff, also the nurses and staff at the Coles Nursing Home for all the excellent care they gave our dear Mother. First: It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.

Notes for John Bradshaw:
One account has John BRADSHAW arriving in America in 1687 on the ship "Endeavor". Another account of his arrival has him coming from Ireland transported by Richard KENNON in 1683. This account is somewhat backed up by court records in Henrico County, Virginia which show this transportation. KENNON did not put in his claim for land until April 1, 1690, at which time he put in a claim for 8,000 acres.
