James M. Scott, 75, Retired County Farmer, Dies

James M. Scott, 75, retired farmer, died Saturday of pneumonia after a long illness in Korthaus rest home, 1718 N. Broadway. A native of Sullivan county, Mo., Scott came to Oklahoma in 1914, settling at Mill Creek. In 1919 he moved northwest of Oklahoma City. His home was at 7500 NW 36. Scott is survived by his sons, Clifton T. Scott Pueblo, Colo.; Jack D., Lyons, Kan.; Wayne, 1211 NW 45; J. Otis of the Home; a daughter, Mrs. W. L. Cartwright, Jonesboro, Ark.; brother Charles E., Green City, Mo.; sisters, Mrs. Della Nelson, Green City, Mo., and Mrs. Anna Martin of Pueblo, Colo. Services are incomplete at guardian funeral home.

    City Educator J. Otis Scott Is Dead at 59
    J. Otis Scott, 59, of 7500 NW 36, a long-time Oklahoma City educator, died Monday in Veterans Hospital. He had been in the Oklahoma City Public School System for 29 years and for 26 years served as principal at Columbus Elementary School. A native Missourian, he was born Feb 23, 1900 at Green City. He came to Oklahoma as a youth and graduated from high school at Mill Creek. He received his B.S. at Central State Teachers College at Edmond and later obtained his master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. He started in the Oklahoma City system in 1931, after having taught several years at Peyton, Morse and Fort Cobb. His first two years in Oklahoma City he served as principal at Riverside grade school. Presently, he was in his first year as administrator at Wheeler Elementary School. For 26 years Scott had been active in the Boy Scout movement of Oklahoma City. In 1952 he received the Silver Beaver scout award for service to his community. He was vice president of the board at Putnam City Methodist Church and recently received his 25 year pin for service in the Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce, the Masonic Lodge, National Education Association and the Oklahoma Education Association. Services are pending at the Merritt Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Anna, of the Home; a son; four daughters; a brother, C. T. Scott, Pueblo, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Dana Cartwright, Riverside, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren. The family prefers that friends wishing to make memorial contributions do so with donations to the Putnam City Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

    Jack D. Scott, 51-year-old former Oklahoma City resident, died Sunday at El Dorado, Kan., after an unexpected heart attack.     P. WAYNE SCOTT
    Services for P. Wayne Scott, 44, of 2233 NW 22, will be in the Smith & Kernke funeral chapel at 2; p.m. Thursday. Scott was found dead in his automobile Tuesday morning. A graduate of Yukon high school, Scott moved to Oklahoma City about 25 years ago. He was employed by the Equitable Life Insurance Co. here since that time. At the time of his death he was an assistant cashier for Equitable. Born in Missouri, he came to Mill Creek with his family as a small boy. Later they moved to Yukon. Scott was a member of the Wesley Methodist church. He was also a member of the Bethany lodge of the Masonic order. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary C.
